What are Calendars
Calendars in TouchPoints.health act as the clinician’s diary, showing when and where clinical activity takes place.
How calendars are used
Calendars are linked to physical locations where you undertake clinical work. For example, if a clinician runs an outpatient clinic at the same hospital on Wednesday afternoons and Friday afternoons, a single calendar can be created for that location. Availability can then be added for those days and times and set to recur.
This approach keeps scheduling clear and avoids duplication.
Virtual and video calendars
Some clinicians choose to create separate calendars for virtual or video consultations. These calendars can be used for specific time periods, such as evenings or out of hours clinics, and can be made available for direct patient booking.
Using separate calendars provides granular control over availability, terms and conditions, and the types of appointments patients are allowed to book when using online booking.
Linking calendars to locations
Calendars must be linked to a location. It is therefore important to ensure that all relevant locations are set up under Contacts before creating calendars.
Why calendars are important
Well configured calendars help manage availability, support accurate billing, and ensure patients book the correct appointment types at the correct locations.
